They have concocted an ever so pleasing continuation to the saga of the Deadites, a deft combination of the spirit of madcap mayhem that continually

ratcheted up in the initial three films from the 80s and early 90s,

with the modern gritty nastiness of 2013's more sincere remake.

It's a blood-drenched, squirm-inducing celebration of the IP Sam Ramey and Bruce Campbell launched in such low-budget audacious style over 40 years ago.

Tips of the hat to the originals abound, of course, but they are never on the nose, and in a couple of instances are delightfully cheeky.
