| 0:24.0 | Welcome back to Knock-On Podcast and as I promised I'm going to get a few more of these out. |
| 0:35.0 | Now that seasons kicked off again and got my mind on shooting, hunting, everything in between. |
| 0:45.0 | So I've been getting a few different questions here and there. Several of them were on subjects here recently that I thought I'd cover on the podcast just because I think a lot of you out there that are listening right now are in the process of setting up your gear and getting it ready. |
| 1:05.0 | We're only a few weeks away from some of the Midwestern hunting seasons here. A lot of the Western hunters have started. |
| 1:13.0 | But again, even though at times we're talking about specifically a hunter that might be asking the question, these are all questions that are relative to target archery as well. |
| 1:28.0 | And really when it comes to tuning a bow or setting up your bow or tuning arrows or even just the product opinions or reviews, it's all relative and it's all archery. |
| 1:42.0 | So the first question I have here came in from Paul Collins and he said, you know, he said, I see that you're shooting a four-fletch setup right now on your hunting arrows. |
| 1:57.0 | And he said, I've always been curious, is it a better setup than a three-fletch arrow or is it just better for stability? |
| 2:06.0 | And honestly, you know, I keep saying this time and time again, but each and every year I'd really try to focus on experimenting with a lot of different options to see what gives me the best results. |
| 2:25.0 | One person that I see in the industry that does this every year just like I do and usually posts it as well and kind of shows you a few different results. |
| 2:37.0 | It is Dan Evans from Trophy Takeer. And Dan pretty much does the same exact thing as I do. You know, we get several different arrows. We kind of decide which bow we want, get different arrows. |
| 2:53.0 | And then once we narrow down the arrow that's probably given us the speed that we want or the kinetic that we want or overall is just given us a decent grouping result. |
| 3:05.0 | From there, you really try to fine tune it with the fletchings and you have to factor in what type of hunting you're going to go to. |
| 3:18.0 | And this is the exact same thing that I used to do for target archery because there were times where if I knew I was going to a certain course that might have been shorter in distance and also really well contained from the wind, I wouldn't have any hesitation shooting a slightly longer fletch. |
| 3:42.0 | Whereas if I'm at an event where I know there's going to likely be wind or in places where I know that we're going to be shooting longer distances and that wind can be a factor, then I would always try to go to a shorter vein profile just because it would minimize wind drift. |
| 4:03.0 | Now with my arrows this year, I've had to experiment quite a bit just because of my poundage being so much lower than it ever has. So I'm having to try totally new categories of arrows and everything in between. |
| 4:22.0 | So what I first tried was the three inch vein, you know, just a three inch low profile vein AAE 260 Elite. |
| 4:34.0 | And it, I mean, it's shot fine. It's shot good. And I also tried a two inch high profile vein. |
| 4:44.0 | The shorter profile vein probably shot just a little bit better for me. And then what I did just just to see was I went ahead and did the four fletch. |
