with my best friend Joey Gonzalez a couple months ago, And then I just got back from a Mother's Day

weekend with Joey, his husband John, and his two beautiful children, Jake and Frankie. And Francesca,

I am her godmother. During the pandemic, we moved to Austin. They moved to Miami. We used to live,

you know, 10 minutes away from each other in L.A. And so I was really struggling with the fact that

I used to see them and their children almost every week, several times a week. And then for the last five to six years, it's been so

few and far between because lives are busy, people are busy. But it was so awesome to get to

spend a whole weekend with them. We went to Cabo and it was really restorative, I would say,

as cheesy as that sounds. Zach and I were excited to also spend a

couple days after they left, stayed at the house in Cabo with just the two of us and Ford. And it was a

really, really special time because the whole time we were just very aware of the fact that most likely

this is our last little vacation as a family of three.

And I kept watching Ford in the pool.

Like he's swimming, you know, sitting at restaurants with us.

Don't get me wrong.

He's still only eating like chicken fingers and pizza and I'm, you know, losing my mind about it.

But having these conversations with us at the table. And also, make no

mistake, had plenty of meltdowns. We had plenty of days where, you know, we were at lunch one day.

He refused to eat something that he begged to order. And then we said, it's okay. You don't have to eat

it, but you're not going to get dessert like you wanted to get and blah, blah, blah. This is also stuff that people on Instagram have such strong opinions on like, don't use dessert as reward, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, well, I would love these people to come spend a day with me and with my child. And I'm sure a lot of you parents out there feel the same way. I would love it if these things

were easier. But all in all, it was a really lovely time. And we are coming up on, gosh, I don't know how,
