In the fall of 2016, an Atlanta attorney named Tex McIver shot and killed his wife Diane McIver.

But Tex has always claimed the shooting was an accident.

Is the gun went off accidentally a plausible defense for Tex-Migiver?

Absolutely. Without a doubt. It's a plausible defense.

Is it really possible? Does a real gun owner believe that his or her gun is going to go off accidentally?

The answer is no.

So Caitlin, start by introducing us to this couple before we get to the shooting. Who were Texan Diane McIver? They were a really known couple around Atlanta. Diane was a powerful and successful

businesswoman. She had worked her way up in quarry industries to a really prominent position.

She was well known in a lot of Atlanta circles. And Tex was well known in his own right.

He was a prominent immigration attorney and knew a lot of people in the Republican Party.

The two of them were often seen at a lot of social events. Their pictures would end up in those

local newspapers. They were people that a lot of social events. Their pictures would end up in those local

newspapers. They were people that a lot of folks in Atlanta knew.
