Summary

Getting out of prison means freedom, but this liberation often comes with caveats. In our final episode of the season, three formerly incarcerated people describe the unwelcome surprises that were waiting for them on the other side of the gates. Plus, Ear Hustlers respond to the murder of George Floyd and recent protests.

0:21.6	I mean, I hardly know what to say about it.
0:24.0	Our first episode dropped the first week of March, just as the pandemic broke out.
0:29.6	And we've talked about how that's playing out in California prisons.
0:32.4	Yeah, it's gotten really bad in there in the past few weeks.
0:35.7	As of June 8th, when we record this, there are close to 2,500 confirmed cases of coronavirus
0:40.8	amongst California state prisoners, including 15 in San Quentin.
0:45.4	And there are 400 cases amongst CDCR staff.
0:48.6	And ear hustles work inside San Quentin basically ground to a halt.
0:53.0	Volunteers haven't been allowed inside since mid-March.
0:56.2	And then the whole world-washedest George Floyd was murdered, and people are really feeling
1:00.3	some kind of way behind that.
1:02.4	We wanted to hear from people inside to find out what all of this has been like for them.
1:06.7	So a few days ago, I got on the phone with our inside co-hosts New York.
1:11.5	That was the straw that broke the camel bag, man.
1:13.8	And I think it's going to be some type of result from this, you know?
