You can see me in the dark. We last talked to Noah in May of 2023. If you haven't heard this episode, the most haunted house in Bristol, I recommend listening to that one first, and then coming back to check this one out.

2:26.8

To date, Noah's story of growing up in an extremely haunted house in Bristol

2:32.1

are some of the most unsettling we've ever featured on the show.

2:36.4

So we were thrilled when he reached back out to let us know he had some updates.

You can see me in the dark presents?

2:44.4

Noah. had some updates. You can see me in Sweden whether I want to be or not, but it's lovely here. About three years ago I met my boyfriend and we moved it. We had a couple of different apartments beforehand. They were nice, but they weren't perfect. So we were really looking for an apartment that would be close to where my ex lives. So we'd be within close reach of my kids. And we found this very nice ground floor apartment. Like it's a stones floor from where my kids are. So we were thinking, well, it's perfect. It has enough rooms and it's very small. It only has two bedrooms, but it has like ground floor, a ball can either. It's only a foot off the ground, so it's perfect. The kids can climb over a pool ladder and play on the grass and it's surrounded by forests and it's a really beautiful area. So they're like, yeah, that's the one. This is a good one we're not going to get any better than this so we moved in. So the the block that I live in about the entire estate I suppose it's in a state comprised of multiple apartment buildings was built in the 1960s and prior to that it was just forest here. The estate is 1960s. The forest is older. I don't know how old. I know that the area was originally broken up

into the small pockets of land that various people owned.

5:08.7

So there were people living in the forest

in tiny little houses.

5:12.7

You can find some of the abandoned foundations

of their old houses just in the trees,

which is a little spooky sometimes,

but it's also very cool.

So it started shortly after we moved in. There was a family who lived on the floor above us and they had small children, a baby and like a two, three year old child. And the same travels between the throes. So we could hear them walking, talking, you hear the baby crying. And most of all, you hear the child running around, you know, that's what those do. We're used to, we have three kids of our own, so it wasn't a big deal. Eventually, it started to get weird when we would be sitting on the sofa about 10 o'clock at night. And this was the, we moved in just before Christmas, so it was the middle of winter. It was like very, very dark. The darkness here is, I've never experienced darkness like it is here, it is a black darkness. So we're sitting in our living room, it's incredibly dark and it's 10 o'clock at night and we hear child footfalls, it sounds like a child running around. Back and forth across the ceiling and it goes on and it goes on and it sounds like a child running around. Back and forth across the ceiling, and it goes on, and it goes on, and it's like 11 o'clock at night, and we're thinking, why is this child not in bed? It is so late, this child is running and playing and hoping and jumping and you're thinking, that's, oh, these parents are irresponsible, you know. And this charge should be. It's too late for a toddler to be running around. Yeah, so we thought that and that went on for for a little while and then one day I was coming home and walking along the path towards the entrance to our apartment and I just happened to glance up. I guess I never did that before, I don't know why. I'm not usually looking in people's windows, you know. I don't want to be rude. And I saw that it was empty. And I thought, oh, when did they move out? I guess they must moved out when we were traveling away or something. Because there was nothing in Windows and it was completely empty. That's strange, okay. So we carry on this normal and we're still here hearing this child running around. And like, at the same time, it's always sometime between 10 o'clock and midnight running around. And I'm thinking, oh, but how? Where is that coming from? There's no other children here. Our neighbours across the whole way are elderly. Their kids are grown up, they're toddlers. and it must be coming from directly above us because like the sound wouldn't travel in that way. Like we could hear the neighbours before. And I'm just thinking this is really odd. And so one day I bumped into the lady who works in the, the, the, the landlord's, has an office like on the estate. And bumped into her and I said, The family that lived above us went to the lady who works in the the landlord's house in office like on the estate and bumped into her and I said the family that lived above us when did they move out and she's like oh they moved out at this time and I'm thinking well that was like that was months ago. I didn't say anything to her but at the time I remember thinking okay okay, that's a little bit spooky. Where it just sounds coming from. And I go home and my boyfriend Lee comes home and I say to him, it's been empty up there for months. And we go outside and we're walking around because we're like on the end of the block so we so we can see all around the building and we're walking around trying to see the windows that it's completely empty. There is literally there's no furniture, there's no curtains, it's empty. So I can't explain that but it continued, we continued to hear it for months and then around the like middle of summertime last year then we started hearing like thumping noises and like door slamming and a few times it sounded like someone had pushed a cabinet over or something it was this loud like crash and the lantern, the lamp in the living room was, was sweating. I'm thinking, what is that? Is someone moving in? So we go outside and we're looking around. Is there anyone up there? Like this was the middle of the day. Looking around, looking for the windows, there's no one there. So I cannot explain what these sounds were. And that went on for about eight or nine months until some new neighbors moved in. And as soon as they moved in, it stopped. We have not heard a single thing since then. I cannot explain that. I haven't spoken to the neighbors because I don't want to make them scared and I don't want them to think that I might play a prank or trying to make people afraid or something. I am tempted to ask them if they've heard anything but yeah I wouldn't know what to say to them. I mean, we'll hear them if they have like friends over and you can hear them talking very loudly, slightly drunk, you know. Then we can hear them, but it's very peaceful, like sometimes you'll hear them walking and stuff and it's very obviously an adult walking, but the of the child footsteps they've disappeared have not heard them at all since then. It's interesting because it feels a little bit like I've come I've come full circle and that like my mom wouldn't ask me or my my brother or sister if we had seen her her things be like like, no, no, you're imagining it or something.

11:47.6

So I don't find myself doing the same thing to my own kids.

11:50.8

And I don't want to be scared.

11:53.2

But how else do you handle it? So... So my, I have triplets, so my kids are, my kids are all six years old and yeah they've, they've shared a bedroom since they were born and so their bedroom is at the front of the apartment. It's next to this room just over there and they have separate like adult sized beds. So my kids were asleep, I was asleep, my boyfriend was sleeping on a bedroom and it was the middle of the night I'm going to say around to a clockish and my son wakes me up and says, up I'm scared I saw something weird in the hallway and I ask him like, what did you see? Maybe it was just a shadow or you know, because sometimes people walking outside will cast a shadow through the window because we're on the ground floor so so people pass the apartment sometimes. He was like, no, it wasn't a person or a shadow. And he described to me how he got up and he went into the bathroom and he would leave the door ajar. And we always have the light on in the hallway. It's not a big hallway, but they like to the light for us and come through our space. And he just went to the bathroom and he's washing his hands and he turns to go back into the hallway to go back to his bedroom and he said he saw a round ball floating in the air somewhere between the size of a football football and a basket ball I suppose. And it was black and sort of like, yeah, a black floating ball shape. And he was a bit alarmed, I suppose, understandably. And he stood there and he thought maybe it would go away. And he and waited and it didn't go away. So he decided okay maybe it is a shadow I will go back to my bedroom. So he stepped out into the hallway and as he went into the hallway it started to move towards them and then he was like oh I cannot, because he would have had to run past it to get to his bedroom door. So instead he turned and he went straight into our bedroom where he woke me, like immediately woke me and I was thinking okay, and at that point I was feeling a little bit spooked by myself. But I was like, okay, I'm sure it was nothing. I'll get up and I'll look in the way. And then, you know, I'll make sure you go back to sleep. So I got up and I looked in the way. There was nothing there. Nothing to see anything. And of course I told him, oh you're you're probably dreaming or it was probably a shadow or you know the usual rubbish that you say because you don't you don't want to say oh yeah you absolutely saw something floating there in the hallway the next day I asked him about it and he repeated the exact same story. I've asked him about it since as well. And it's the exact same story. He has it hasn't changed. It hasn't always turned into a spooky monster or a vampire or you know, it's always the same. No, it was a big floating port floating in the hallway.

15:45.0

And I can't say what it is, but it reminded me of things that I've seen like when I was a child. And I don't feel like it's made up. I believe him. He was genuinely afraid at the time. time.
