What's up, Laker fans? Welcome to the Laker Film Room podcast. I'm Pete, joined by D. D., I've been

thinking, you know, it's funny, I had so many expectations about this upcoming year, being

somewhat of a gap year, of a year of transition to get really set

up for the upcoming 2026 cap space and all of that. But I was thinking fundamentally,

winning an NBA championship is a contest between various NBA front offices of who can get

the most value out of the contracts contracts they've given to their players.

And so this is why having guys on rookie deals, for example, OKC just won the title. Jalen

Williams is making less than $5 million. Chet Holmgren is on his rookie deal as well.

You get a ton of extra value because those guys are way better. They produce

way more money in terms of the quality of their play than their contracts are. And so looking

at the Lakers through this lens, I think you can make an argument that the Lakers are going to have

more value contracts or are likely to have more value contracts

this very season than any season in the upcoming, certainly two, that Luca is under contract

for. You've got Austin on the last year of his deal, I think making 13.9 million, DeAndre
