| 0:00.0 | Welcome back, everybody, to the Football Guys Daily Update. You give us 10 minutes. We'll give you |
| 0:04.4 | everything you need to know to make you the most informed fantasy football player in your league. |
| 0:08.4 | I'm Mike Dempsey alone with Football Guys own Bob Harris. And Bob, it feels like we've talked way |
| 0:13.1 | too much about Jaden Daniels lately. He remained limited in practice for the commanders yesterday. |
| 0:18.1 | Terry McClearn did not practice Noah Brown unable to go. So we don't know yet, |
| 0:23.4 | but possibly no Daniels McClureen or Brown this week. And if that's the case, which Washington |
| 0:28.3 | pass catchers can we play with any reasonable degree of confidence? First, Mike on McLaurin, |
| 0:33.2 | the reporting last night, Mike Rothwell of NFL Network reported the quad injury will not require surgery. |
| 0:38.3 | It doesn't look good for him to play this weekend, but looks like he'll avoid surgery. As for who we can trust, Debo Samuel, football guy's projections have him as wide receiver 11. He plays a versatile role. He saw him returning kicks. He could run the football. He can catch the football and still get something done. He's the piece. Cliff Kingsbury after Thursday's practice talked about getting creative with some of the other pieces, whether that's Luke McCaffrey or Jalen Lane. We'll see. But I don't think you want to dig that deep into this offense. Debo Samuel's the answer. Well, speaking of guys who might run the ball, if they play, Bill Kroski Merritt would be one of those guys. Didn't practice Wednesday. Jeremy Fowler, VSPN reported that that was a precautionary move. Then he didn't practice again yesterday, Bob. That doesn't sound precautionary. How would you rank the Washington running backs if Kroski Merritt cannot go? I played Jeremy McNichols over Chris Rodriguez, Jr. again, a greater versatility. We've seen him as a receiving asset. We've seen him last year working at the goal line effectively. We saw him break off a long run last week. He'd be the piece to be that would be a flex level play if you're not playing our guy Bill. I don't know that I'd go Chris Rodriguez Jr. unless I really had to, but you might be in that position. |
| 1:45.2 | The Bucks are hosting Philadelphia. |
| 1:47.0 | Baker Mayfield dealing with the right bicep injury is taking mental reps, so not physical |
| 1:51.5 | reps at practice. |
| 1:53.0 | Do you trust the Bucks passing game versus Philadelphia if Mayfield doesn't practice all week |
| 1:57.6 | but still plays? |
| 1:58.9 | Not entirely. |
| 2:00.3 | I mean, his football guy's projection also reflects that. I think this is the first time I can remember Baker-Makefield being as low as quarterback 15. I think those numbers reflect that and the diminished receiving core, whether Chris Godwin's back or not, it would be his first game and there is no Mike Kevin. So it would be a concern, yes. For some reason, they didn't play Mayfield after not practicing. Would Teddy Bridgewater be on the Superflex radar for this week? Boy, I'd have to be in a serious pinch. But it would be convenient, right? I could see picking him up in a league where I have Mayfield just to have a body on hand. All right. Let's take a look at one of the Monday night matchups here. Jets and the Dolphins, a full practice for Justin Fields and reports from Aaron Glenn that if Fields does clear the concussion protocol, he will start, although that's not a lock right now. So Bob, he's practicing. What still needs to happen for Fields to play this week? |
| 2:49.0 | So he's got to ramp up to the participation. He's got to |
| 2:51.7 | make it through one practice, come back the next day, not have symptoms, be cleared to practice |
| 2:56.3 | again, increase that, have a final clearance from a independent neurologist. Concussions |
| 3:02.7 | that could be tricky. Dan Graziano v.SPM said that this hadn't been an easy recovery, so we'll |
| 3:07.2 | see. I think it sounds like he's in a good place after the way Aaron Glenn spoke on Thursday. But we'll have to watch this one. Might not get that clearance until all the way out until Monday. Yeah, Josh Reynolds, by the way, hopeful to return this week, a limited participant with his hamstring issue that's kept him out for the last couple weeks on the dolphin side. And keep in mind, we won't get the final injury report until Saturday on all these guys. |
| 3:27.9 | Jalen Wattle listed is limited. |
