Big breaking news today.

We're at a Washington as the impeachment thing is done, finished.

There will be no witnesses because the Republican senators, 51 of them anyway,

are going to vote against witnesses and that puts it all to a vote now on whether to convict or

quit President Trump and you need two-thirds of the Senate to convict him that will never happen.

So let me explain what has gone on and we'll assume that this is accurate, all right, that

Mitch McConnell, who will emerge the hero on the Republican side, managed to convince 51

public senators not to vote for witnesses. If they had voted for witnesses, this trial would have

gone on another week, two, maybe three. So it would have been crazy and that's bad for the country.

There were three senators on the Republican side who had told the public, yeah, I'd like to hear

from John Bolton and we'll get to Bolton in a minute. All right, that's Lisa McCasky Alaska,

Midrame, Utah, Susan Collins, Maine. Susan Collins is not really attached to the Republican Party,

Maine is a whole different ballgame up there. It doesn't really need the Republican structure

and she's running for re-election. So I don't think it was her, but it could be wrong. Midrame

just despises Donald Trump. It's all about that and Midrame hurting himself a lot. I don't think

he knows it, but he is. So it's Lisa McCasky who met with McConnell yesterday for 20 minutes,

just one-on-one closed doors. I think she said, all right, I'm not going to vote for witnesses

because I want to put an end to this because it's hurting the country and of course it's hurting

the Republican Party and not that about that. So what happens now is that McConnell will call for

a vote. I don't think any Republicans are going to vote to kick Donald Trump out of office.
