| 0:00.0 | This is the Lockdown Jets podcast on this Sunday. |
| 0:06.6 | I'm your host, John B from gangreneation.com, giving a big shout out to you every dayers. |
| 0:11.0 | If you're new to the show, this is a daily podcast covering the New York Jets. |
| 0:14.6 | And we're here to break down a blowout loss for the New York Jets as they were defeated by the Miami Dolphins 34 to 10 at MetLife Stadium. This is a game where the final score does tell the story. It was a completely dominant performance by Miami. If we're being honest, this game was over in the first quarter. The Dolphins scored three touchdowns in their first three series. Tyrod Taylor got knocked out of the game after Miami went up 21-0. In came Brady Cook and an undrafted rookie free agent signing at the quarterback position. And he played about as well as you'd expect an undrafted rookie who got zero reps in week leading up to the game would play. It was ugly. He was not accurate. He was not making good decisions. On the few instances where he actually put the ball on the money, Jets receivers did not come up with it. But this game was not about Brady Cook. |
| 0:56.1 | As I mentioned, it was pretty much over by the time Cook entered the game. |
| 1:00.1 | The defense came out. |
| 1:01.7 | They got dominated up front. |
| 1:03.4 | They got pushed around in Miami's run game. |
| 1:05.9 | And on the back end of the defense, they were busting coverages left and right. |
| 1:10.0 | There were plays on the first three |
| 1:12.0 | Miami series where I felt like I was closer to the Miami receivers watching from home than the Jets |
| 1:18.5 | defenders were. This team did not look ready to play whatsoever. And I think that when the issues |
| 1:25.8 | are system-wide and it was up and down the defense, |
| 1:29.3 | you know, not generating, not generating a pass rush, getting pushed around on the interior |
| 1:33.7 | in the run game, over pursuing, missing tackles, busting coverages. |
| 1:39.1 | And then on the offensive side of the ball, the offense just looked completely out of |
| 1:42.7 | a sink all game. |
| 1:43.4 | And look, part of that's that you have a guy who really shouldn't be playing in at the quarterback position. But even when Tyrod Taylor was running the offense, it looked bad. There was an interception that came on a ball, Mason Taylor should have caught, hit him in the hands, popped into a Miami defender. And that set the dolphins up for a touchdown. This was a complete no-show by the New York Jets. |
| 2:03.6 | And this time of year, we talk about it a lot on this podcast. |
| 2:06.7 | There is a big debate. |
| 2:07.7 | Is it better to lose games for the purposes of getting a better draft pick, |
| 2:11.9 | the whole tanking scenario, or is it better to win to try and build going forward? |
