Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham.

On day two of a new era in television history, we are, of course, Talk TV, formerly known as Talk Radio TV.

We are here for your delectation over the next three hours, in which time we are going to be travelling and traversing across a whole

panoply of stories, some of which will upset you, some of which will annoy you, some of which

will entertain you and some of which will downright just make you laugh.

We're talking to Anne Whittickham coming up first off.

She's a former prisoners minister, former Brexit Party MEP, of course as well, former

Shadow Home Secretary, because there's much to

discuss about the prevent strategy. That's with a capital P. This is the strategy that supposedly

fixes Islamic terrorism, takes people who have been radicalised, who have become Islamic extremists,

takes them into prison, teaches them how to be good boys and girls, and then releases them

back into the public without any danger whatsoever. That's the theory. But unfortunately,

that's how it works. And lots of people right now are telling us that actually the prevent

strategy is entirely wrong. Needs to be fixed, needs to be sorted out. And you might as well

spread that as well, by the way, to the parole board,

because we have had many, many occasions of criticism of the parole board,

not least when they released Colin Pitchfork, a double child murderer and rapist,

who then had to be taken back into prison, because guess what?
