Lara, welcome to the death panel. Thanks so much for having me. And Sophie, welcome to the death panel. Hi. Great to be back. I'm really excited for this conversation today.

Together with many others, all of you have helped organize a contributor boycott of the New York Times,

which is a growing campaign of refusal that, as of the time of recording, hundreds of writers have

signed onto. If you're a longtime listener of Death Panel, you might remember our episode from

about this time last year with Wawag about a readership boycott and subscription boycott that they and allied groups launched, which was urging people to cancel their subscriptions to the times and divest from an institution that for decades has manufactured consent for U.S. and Zionist violence. That call was about the

power of withdrawal, refusing to fund propaganda, refusing to accept neutral reporting on genocide.

But this new campaign builds directly on that momentum and raises the stakes. It's a boycott
