I never like to refer to this case as being a cool case.

It has always been a top priority of our department.

While the rest of the world kind of moves on, these families that are affected by tragedy,

whether it's an unidentified person or a crime, they become fixed in time.

They can't move forward.

41 years ago, the body of a young girl was found on the side of a Texas highway. And just

recently, there's been a major development in the case. I'm joined by reporter Jennifer Hoff at

Carol Levin in Minneapolis. Jennifer, thanks for being here with us. Hi. Well, thanks so much for having

me. I think these cases are always amazing

just to think that over four decades later, there are investigators, detectives, people involved

in a case who've picked it up probably, certainly over time, and finally get some news that's

going to maybe make a big difference here.

I've covered a lot of these so-called cold cases over the years of my reporting.

And I think, you know, there are a lot of people working very hard behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't see that over the years.

And even, frankly, some of the family members

touched by these cases probably don't feel like that either. And it just, it could be the smallest.
