And we are still waiting for the Big Ten to make a decision regarding Michigan.

We have seen Michigan's arguments against punishment.

We have seen Jim Harbaugh's arguments against punishment. We have seen Jim Harbaugh's arguments against

punishment, at least right now. But we don't have a verdict. And I don't know if we're

going to get one or what we're going to get. That is what makes this whole situation so fascinating.

With the Big Ten come out on a Friday and say, Jim Harbaugh, you're not coaching against

Penn State on Saturday.

Like that seems pretty extreme.

Would they wait through the weekend and render a decision?

Would they do a fine instead of a suspension? Would they do a fine instead of a suspension?

Would they do a suspension that is longer than two games, that is indefinite?

All of these things feel on the table.

If you've read Chris Ballast and the Wolverine, that is what Michigan was bracing for as of Wednesday night after sending in the response to the Big Ten. But to this point, we don't have an answer from the Big Ten yet. And remember, this would be the first on the record anything from the Big Ten since this case became public knowledge three weeks ago.

It is going to be absolutely fascinating to see what happens because if there is a suspension,

I would assume that Michigan runs to court, tries to get an injunction,

tries to keep that suspension from happening. There are so many variables at play here,

so many different factors, and we don't know until the Big Ten renders a decision.

Tony Petit, the commissioner, in his first year, no pressure.

And then what he does could have long-term effects,

because no matter what he does, he's going to piss somebody off.

If he suspends Jim Harbaugh, the Michigan people are coming.
