This was a good day for Mayor Adams.

A judge formally dropped his federal corruption case.

My fellow New York is, today finally marks the end of this chapter.

But the judge in the case made it clear he was not pleased, saying everything here smacks

him a bargain, dismissal of the indictment in exchange for immigration policy concessions.

The charges were dropped with prejudice, meaning they cannot be brought back again.

The mayor's attorney talking with ABC's Eric Kuturski saying the whole case was politically motivated from the beginning,

hinging on an airline upgrade.

Politicians get upgrades.

They get corner suites.

They get better tables at restaurants.

They get free appetizers.

That's how our country works.

Those kinds of gratuities, they're not federal crimes.

Meanwhile, Mayor Adams is expected to refocus his re-election campaign tomorrow.

He's going to attend the first forum of the candidates running for his office.
