Despite headlines declaring victory, the WGA, the Ryder's Union, has lost.

They misidentified their enemy, and in doing so, ceded power to their true nemesis, Big Tech.

Last week, after five months of striking, the Ryder's Guild, WGA, and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, AMPTP, reached a tentative agreement.

The WGA wrote, quote,

We can say with great pride that this deal is exceptional, with meaningful gains and protections for Ryder's in every sector of the membership.

Unquote.

Five months ago, I compared the Ryder's to the British coal miners of the 80's, predicting they'd exit these negotiations, severely impaired.

I received a lot of feedback, I hope you die, et cetera, good stuff.

So here we are.

Headlines universally lauding the historic deal and victory of human over AI.

The WGA is claiming victory as it has no choice.

Imagine declaring defeat after subjecting your constituents to five months of no pay.

So let's put the ketamine down and acknowledge this is no victory.

The key issue in this debate was money, specifically the Ryder's wanted more of it.
