Richard glanced at the clock. His daughter Joe was never late, but it was after 4pm and there was no sign of her.

It was quiet in the gift shop on South Street, so Richard saw no harm in stepping outside to see if Joe was nearby.

He half expected to see her ambling home from work experience, probably with a smile on her face. When Joe wasn't there, Richard grew concerned. Joe's world consisted of just four places within the market town of Bridport,

and she wasn't at any of them.

Somebody abducted Joe Ramsden and brought her to this desolate, isolate spot.

Somebody knows who did that.

And when you consider this as a young, helpless girl,

somebody out there ought to have the conscience and the decency

to help the police force and the people of Bridport to resolve this matter.

Joe Ramsden was born in Bridport, Dorset, on August 24, 1969.

Joe had Down syndrome, a chromosomal anomaly where there is an extra duplicate of chromosome

21 in each of the body's cells. The condition affects each person differently and can come with

health complications or learning difficulties. According to a survey conducted by contact a family, a UK-based charity for families with

disabled children, caring for a disabled child can be linked to higher levels of stress,

fatigue, depression and financial challenges. A situation might put a strain on a relationship, but Angela and Richard Ramsden were closer

than ever after Joe was born.

They were already parents to a son Philip who was in his early 20s at the time.
