I think what's been interesting is that as I approached 40, I felt really far behind of the

cultural markers we have for progress. And at 51, I feel a decade ahead of everyone else. And what

I was not prepared for in any way was to be a source of envy. And I understand where that envy comes

whose work I

absolutely love. Her most recent memoir, I'm mostly here to enjoy myself, is probably the book

that has been recommended to me basically more than anything else. It is a book about a short

period of her life in her 40s when she decided to sort of uproot her life and move to Paris

too, as the title suggests,

mostly enjoy herself. But it is incredibly candid and refreshing about sex, money, the experience

of being a woman at her place in her life, which also in her case happens to be not married,

no children, and total freedom. So I was extremely grateful to get the chance to sit down with

my guest, Glennis, today so she can tell you all about all of those things and more. Something that we talk

about a lot on this channel is the importance of taking your finances seriously, especially

when you are younger, and have more time to plan for them. Almost every woman that I've spoken to

on this show so far has either said their best advice

is to start taking your finances seriously younger or their regret is that they wish they

had made different choices when they were younger because when you have that time for interest

to accumulate for little savings to stack up into bigger ones and time to plan and your health
