Summary

It's a sign of our times that an expression once used as a vindication of Virtue -- 'No Good Deed Goes Unrewarded' -- has become a catchphrase for cynicism and regret. How does one protect themselves from being taken advantage of while still retaining a sense of generosity, optimism and kindness? Bill Whittle and Alfonzo Rachel create new episodes of The Virtue Signal each week fueled by our Members, who make monthly or annual contributions starting at as little as $9.95/month. In addition to becoming true producers of these, and many other, shows, they unlock access to backstage content, forums, comments and our Member-written blog. We always offer a full-rapid and cheerful refund if you don't love your new conservative friends within 30 days. Test drive Membership today: https://billwhittle.com/register/

1:03.1

a real trend or whether it's just, you know, one of those things where you're looking back and thinking

1:07.3

things used to be better in the past. But on a number of occasions, especially

1:11.6

recently, I got asked to do little favors, significant favor, but, you know, nothing backbreaking

1:20.1

or anything. And what I discovered was over the course of several months, the demand just

1:27.2

get larger and larger and larger and larger and

1:29.4

larger and larger. And it made me think, oh, well, no good deed goes unpunished. You know,

1:34.8

I volunteered to do this. It's just a professional thing. It's got nothing to do a daily wire

1:40.3

for those who are out there playing the guessing game. But basically, it was just a sense of, you know, I'm being taking advantage of here.

1:46.3

My wife Natasha has this happen to her an awful lot too, which will do favors for friends or people,

1:51.3

and they just keep wanting more, more, more.

1:54.1

And you end up kind of feeling like a chump and a doormat.

1:59.3

And I don't want to feel that way about donating time to things I care about. I don't want to feel that way about donating time to things I care
