out a second episode of no fair remembering stuff for you to listen to and tell us what you think.

The idea behind this new podcast is to do what almost no other political or media podcast does,

but which movie, TV, and literature podcasts do all the

time. Look back on that which came before and give it context. No other field of serious

cultural inquiry insists that each day, everything that happened prior to that day must be

tossed out and that only what happens

today matters. Yet there is no subject more aggressively avoided by the very serious men and

women who dominate media and politics than the past. Specifically, the Republican Party's

past. How it came to be that the racist shit pile it is now,

and you can tell Dr. Glass wrote this, and how the media enabled it by coddling the GOP

when it was in power and memory-holing its atrocities when it was out of power.

Today, we're going to tell you a story about one of the most dangerous

men in American politics. Yes, yes. And drum roll, please. That man's name is David Brooks.

And he has worked for the New York Times as its senior conservative columnist for 19 years since September of 2003.

Now, here's a fun fact. David Brooks's fellow Iraq war pimp and his boss at the weekly

standard, Bill Crystal, was also hired by the New York Times a few years later as the Times

scrambled to do then what MSNBC is scrambling to do now.
