Welcome to our daily Rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the

son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let's call the mind all those we've promised to

pray for. God made you for something unamagitably great. He made you to share in his divine life

to be like God and live like Him forever. I love the term that the Catholic Church has

always used for this. It's called divinization. That's a great word. Divinization. And the early church used to say, the fact still says,

God became man so that man could become God.

Now this becoming like God is supposed to begin now

and to be experienced more and more in this life and then

perfected in heaven and this is what we mean by holiness and God has called everyone to holiness. Jesus

has given us a very heavy really overwhelming task, this task of holiness, of being

Saints. And he assigned us that task when he said, you must be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.

And the church doubles down on that obligation.

In fact, the second Vatican Council in its document on the church said, all the faithful,

whatever their condition or state, are called to that

the perfect holiness whereby the father himself is perfect.

Got that?

All the faithful, everybody.

Even you.

You are obliged to become perfectly holy.

You as a disciple of Jesus are obliged to become a saint, one who shares in the life of God, truly living as his

sons and daughters, purified from all vice and living in the fullness of virtue and excellence.

That is your call.
