The topic of reflection and goal setting is pretty popular amongst our generation. Around this time, whether you're looking through some self help podcasts or books, "setting intentions" and "goals" are everywhere. We actually did an episode recently on the main show (ep 252) talking through these topics. After preparing for that episode & being back at home, it made me think about my mom. I wondered “what are her goals for the new year?” and it sparked an interesting dinner conversation with her. 0:09.7	First off, I gotta wish you all a happy new year.
0:13.3	We're officially in 2024, and I just feel like the holidays
0:17.6	went by so quickly this year.
0:19.6	Like, it was already, it was like December
0:21.2	and all of a sudden it's like January, like what happened?
0:23.2	The days between December 1st and January 1st went by so quickly.
0:27.7	I don't know about you, but to be completely honest, I did have a bit of holiday burnout.
0:32.3	So for the holidays I usually go back to the Bay Area,
0:35.0	and this time I chose to spend two weeks in the Bay.
0:37.0	And the first week I got back, I literally got sick,
0:40.0	and so I was really out of commission
0:42.0	trying to like get the last bits of work done while trying to make it to the like the beginnings of the holiday schedule.
0:49.0	I didn't have COVID, I tested so many times it wasn't COVID. I think I just had like a cold, not even the flu.
0:53.7	And the reason why I feel like I had a holiday burnout is, one, I was sick, I wasn't like at 100%.
0:59.2	Two, this is like I think the first holiday season that Ray and I had to juggle both families and our groups of friends.
1:07.3	Because again, Ray and are both from the Bay Area and now we live in LA.
1:10.5	And for me, all of my college high school school like a lot of my friends live and move to the Bay area and then raise friends also are from the Bay his family is here
1:18.8	So I think trying to
1:25.0	be honest, and of course you don't want to disappoint one party
1:28.0	so you're trying to make everything.
1:29.0	But I think one day we were literally driving back from Sacramento.
