Once upon a time, there lived a king and a queen.

They had been married quite some time but still had no children.

And then it happened.

The queen was with child.

But when the baby came, the king had been called away on important business in a faraway country.

The queen refused to name her son until the king returned.

And so, she said, until his father arrives home, we shall call him Nick's nought nothing.

But it was years before he could return, and by then,

the baby had grown into a little boy. Quite a fine young laddie. At last, the king was on his way

home. He came upon a big river, a whirl in the center. It would be an impossible

feat to cross. But a giant appeared and said,

Allow me, King, I will carry you on my back across the river.

What do you take as payment, giant?

The king asked.

Oh, give me Nix Nort nothing, and I'll get you across.

The giant replied,

Well, then you shall have nix nought nothing, said the king.

When the king made it home to the castle,

he was overjoyed to see his wife and finally meet his son.
