says U.S. steel and Japanese steelmaker Napan will partner up. On Truth Social, he said the partnership

will create at least 70,000 jobs and invest $14 billion into the U.S. economy. Former President

Joe Biden blocked the acquisition during his last week in office.

Both sides of the political aisle didn't want to see U.S. steel fall into foreign hands.

The company was once a symbol of American industrial might, when it was the most valuable company in the world

and the first to be worth $1 billion, soon after its creation in 1901.

But it suffered through decades of decline since its post-World War II height.
