Well, we also have two special guests today. That's right. So Bill Trinon from the Nintendo tree house also joined by Anne Lin,

who is also a member of Nintendo tree house here to talk a little bit more about animal crossing.

Happy home designer is coming really soon and we wanted to sort of talk to these folks a little bit of a peek behind the scenes,

sort of working on these games, localizing these games, and sort of helping people just kind of learn where some of this special stuff comes from.

Cool, cool. And can we start with you just for folks at home if you give them a quick introduction, you know, your private tree house.

Like when did you join and sort of when did you start working on animal crossing?

Well, let's see. I joined localization back in 2004 back in the battle days.

We were still in the old tree house, a kind of windowless, secret room. It's a bit dusty.

And I started off as a localization writer and editor and see the first animal crossing that I worked on was Wild World for the DS.

And I headed off the writing side on that also headed up the writing side for city folk and also wrote for me.

Okay, and had you done localization prior to that?

I had not. And it was totally lucky that I fell into this job, you know, being a video game fan and also having a background in creative writing.

I didn't even realize that this was a potential like job career path when I was in college.

And when I first read the job description, I was like, oh, it's like being like an ice cream taster for listening to these jobs exist.

Yeah, it's fun because I think Bill had a similar story in terms of falling into his job in Nintendo as well when he started.

Yeah, it's just, which was funny for me because having studied Japanese and having been looking around for jobs using Japanese in the Seattle area,

I had to like almost forgotten that Nintendo America was out here.
