Hi! Nintendo just announced the new Star Fox game coming to Switch 2 and it's a remake of Star Fox 64. There are also rumors and leaks about a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time also coming to Switch 2, which is also originally a Nintendo 64 game. If that's true, the two biggest games of the year for Switch 2 are remakes. We have to ask ourselves the question, is Nintendo coasting TOO much on nostalgia at this point? Where is the new IP and fresh ideas? What do you think?

| 0:28.4 | The minute you start to coast on your nostalgia, it's kind of over for you in terms of a forward-looking thing. |
| 0:34.8 | It's like you are stuck in that era with that stuff and that's |
| 0:38.8 | how people will always know you. And again, they have so many opportunities with it, but |
| 0:43.8 | they're very hesitant to dip into it. Although these days, it does feel like they're dipping |
| 0:49.9 | into it a little bit more than they have in the past, which I think is worth discussing. |
| 0:55.2 | Yeah, because when we were at Nintendo, there was always the sense of, like, we are a forward-looking |
| 1:00.3 | innovative was a word that came up all the time in terms of how they would describe themselves. |
| 1:06.4 | And especially in the Mr. Awada era, I think he was very anti-Nostalgia where he was always like, |
| 1:12.5 | you know, you can never rest on your laurels. That's kind of what his view of, you know, |
| 1:18.1 | sort of resting on nostalgia is your kind of reliant on it, like a crutch, versus thinking |
| 1:24.9 | of new, big ideas to propel you to the future. |
| 1:29.5 | And there's so many examples that we've told, you know, stories of before |
