It is that time again. A Nintendo Direct is happening tomorrow after all of the rumors, all of the speculation.

It's finally happening. We had kind of a close call as well with this terrible earthquake that happened and all of the tsunamis where in the past we have seen Nintendo divert their plans for big announcements because of these sorts of natural

disasters.

But as it is happening, let's take a look and see exactly what Nintendo said.

and Nintendo Switch games from our publishing partners. Okay, partner showcase. First thing.

That caught me a little bit by surprise. Nintendo does have some work to do in terms of

solidifying the rest of its lineup for 2025.

So I guess that's something they'll just do later.

Right now we're going to be focusing on all of the third-party partners.

Whenever we do a predictions for a direct like this,

we always like to start by asking the question of, so what is the purpose of this direct? And this is exactly the exercise that everybody at Nintendo

goes through when they decide to have a direct. They don't just look at the watch and be like,

well, it's summertime. We better have that Nintendo direct. No, there's always a purpose

driving them doing this.

And in this case, it might surprise you.

Like sometimes the purposes that they have are very simple, very straightforward.

It's like a don't overthink it kind of thing.

In this case, I think there is a very simple purpose.

It's to continue the post-launch momentum for the switch to into the holidays. And in the case of third parties, there's a lot more still to share. It's like we've had some games that have been

announced. We've had some games that have been released. But there's still more games. There are
