The Flyers regular season is now just one day away and the lineup is taking shape for game one against the Florida Panthers here in sunny South Florida.

I'm Charlie O'Connor with PHLI Sports and these are your Flyers post-practice notes from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

So at practice today, the Flyers did run line combinations and defensive pairings.

The lines basically the same as they were on Monday back in Voorhees, New Jersey.

Jet Lucenko did rotate in with Nick Deloree, but it does look like, at least for now,

he might be on the outside looking in. Now, that doesn't mean Luchenko isn't going to play.

Obviously, he made the team to play. But Riktag did mention on Monday that especially in the early part of the season, these first couple weeks, he doesn't mind Luchenko sitting out a game or two. It looks like game one may be one of those games where Jet Luchenko, the 19-year-old rookie, takes a seat. One forward who does seem like a near certainty to take a seat for game one, Nikita Grubankan,

Grubankan obviously had a really strong camp in preseason, made the roster. But he really wasn't in-line rushes today. He wasn't really in line rushes on Monday either. Looks like Grubankin will be a healthy scratch for Thursday's game against the Panthers. So why isn't Grebenkin in the lineup? Well, not quite sure. Nick DeLorey does look like there's a good chance he's going to check in. Maybe they want DeLore's physical presence, his toughness in the lineup against probably the toughest team in hockey, the Florida Panthers. Maybe it's a matter of giving the nod to the veteran. Maybe it's just that they

won Nick DeLory in the lineup because they feel like he's earned it by being an NHL vet for so long. Either way, it does look like Erbenkett is going to take a seat, but according to Tocke, it's not going to be for long. Expect him in the lineup on Saturday in Raleigh against the Cains if he doesn't play on Thursday. That said, Rick Tocket made sure to note that he's keeping the line

of communication open

with Gerven this morning.

He had a long conversation with him about the situation.

Today after practice, he was working with Gerven on some details,

had another long conversation with him after practice as well.

So it does seem like even if Grubengen doesn't play

on Thursday, Tocke noted that he expects him to play on Saturday. This absence is not going to be for long. As for the defense, well, they're in an even tougher spot. Look, we knew Rastasalina wasn't going to be ready for the start of the year. He's still recovering from offseason surgery. that was expected.

games of the year, which leaves the Flyers defense core in a very tough spot to start the year.
