The first is Liz Dolan, who was Nike's chief marketing officer in the 1990s in the midst of some of the biggest battles of the sneaker wars in the 80s and 90s.

So was that a little surreal when you signed on to Nike and you received the Nike principles? Or was that something you were expecting?

It was not something I was expecting. I'm not even trying to get them on the first day. It was not the most organized kind of onboarding process at Nike when I joined in 1988.
