We pick the tail back up on the 11th of December 1975 with two

uniformed police officers Tony White and Stuart Mackenzie. The pair were in

their panda car keeping a watch on the main A60 road that led out of Mansfield in North Nottinghamshire.

And it was a routine day for them, but when they spotted a man acting suspiciously all was about to change.

The man was wearing black he was outside a post office he was carrying a hold all and he was

just moving suspiciously and as the man walked past the car he averted his face and this really peaked their interest.
