Time now for the tale of Vacancy.

Chris and Alana got to Savannah three hours later than they'd originally planned. It was a third weekend in April,

just a few days past the tax deadline. Alana felt terrible, but not because Chris had guilt

tripped her over her being the reason they left late, he hadn't. In fact, he kept reminding her that it was a good thing, that she took her still pretty new job at a cutie so seriously, that she wasn't willing to bounce out early on a Friday, like many of her coworkers did, even if she had

gotten the time off approved in advance. If they really needed her, it was good to show up and

put in the work. She'd be rewarded. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but someday.

Chris respected the grind and he loved that Alana was willing to put in the work to get to where she wanted to be

Where they both wanted to be. She had a great job and she didn't take that for

granted. She was one of Acuity's youngest accountants and they were one of the biggest, if not the

biggest, accounting firm in all of Atlanta. They paid well and they had fantastic benefits. They've given her a job

as a bookkeeper right after graduation and four years later after she studied four and then

earned her masters while taking classes at night she'd gotten a promotion to be a proper accountant.

And she had just survived her first tax season in that position.

No, not survived.

She kicked tax Season's ass.

She was a rock star.

Chris was good for Alana.

His relentless positivity,

counterbalance her sometimes too aggressive self-criticism.
