The Welcome to another edition of Nightmarefeels and Peepers.

I'm Dan Cummins and I'll be sharing the beginning of another original short horror story.

Well, maybe not so short this time. Not sure how

many parts this one will be, but I think it's going to be the longest one yet. So I really hope

you like where it begins. Trying to push myself again with this one, more layered characters,

more twists, more secrets, more monsters. So settle in and make yourself home in Jonesburg,

where the shadows cast are a little too long,

and the official explanations for things that don't make sense are a little too thin.

I highly recommend noise cancellation headphones for the best experience.

Time now for the tale of resurrection.

Chapter 1. The House Across the Highway.

December 6th, 1975, just outside of Jonesburg, Idaho,

Olieander Valley Community Church.

The plain rectangular building was well attended on that Sunday night, not just full, but truly packed. There wasn't enough room for a single additional butt to touch down on open wood

in any of the nearly two dozen pews.

And there were even more congregants of all ages, many more, standing along the walls on both

sides of the pews, and behind them near the doors as well. There were even couples standing

shoulder to shoulder in the center aisle. You could hear babies fussing quietly,

and their mothers, many of them part of the church's secretive inner circle, gently shushing

them. You could see some of the parishioners breath fogging faintly in the cold winter air

every time the doors opened. The Olayander Valley Community Church had never seen a turnout quite like this.
