Dunkins and Dr. Calloway's eyes remain locked.

In an instant, as the unexpected moment registered,

Duncan's gaze transformed from that of a scared,

resigned to his insane and terrible fate flinch,

to a furrowed brow of renewed hope, anger, and determination.

While Dr. Calloway's pupils simultaneously expanded, her eyebrows raising in astonishment, her eyes no longer reflecting cold, detached clinical control, but instead exuding surprise, fear, and disbelief in equal measure. The 38 revolver she still held in her hand had misfired. Acting fast, Duncan grabbed a handful of medical tools on the metal tray to his right

and quickly flung them haphazardly towards the nefarious scientist, who instinctively threw her hands

up to protect her face from the incoming projectiles.

Duncan roared as he then lunged forward.

He grabbed both of her arms near the wrists and slammed the one that held the revolver hard into the doorframe behind her,

nearly breaking one of the bones in her forearm in the process.

Dr. Calloway cried out in pain and shock as she dropped her weapon.

Duncan quickly pulled her body back towards him
