When asked, absolutely not, Petino said.

I think whoever comes in, if he doesn't get to the finals, it's going to be deemed as unsuccessful season.

So whoever comes in, got so much pressure on them to take this team to the next level, because that's why they're doing it.

Obviously, it's in their mind.

Nix fired head coach Tom Fibito on Tuesday, despite reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years.

The Knicks hadn't reached the NBA finals since 99 and haven't won a championship since 1973.

And the reason why, because here's the thing was, and this is what happens.

This is what gets you fired.

This is what calls you to be a bus is expectations.

You see, once the Knicks knocked off the Celtics bread, everybody says, oh, they're going

to the finals.

Man, they're better than the players.

They're going to the final.

Woo!

We're going to the finals.

They started coming out with all these stats. Every home game, the New York economy make 91 million.

They can make $500 million if they go all the way to the NBA final of the player game seven.

So now Tom Fibito had unrealistic expectations.
