Good evening once again. I am Stephanie Ruhl and welcome to the Friday nightcap. It is day 61 of the

Second Trump administration and today, Elon Musk, the richest man on the planet with business

interests across the globe was at the Pentagon. Two defense officials told NBC News he was expected to receive an unclassified briefing on China.

This comes after the New York Times reported that Musk was scheduled to be briefed on the military's top secret plan for any potential war with China.

According to two U.S. officials, President Trump denied that very reporting. Watch this.

We don't want to have a potential war with China, but I can tell you, if we did, we're very well

equipped to handle it, but I don't want to show that to anybody, but certainly you wouldn't show

it to a businessman who is helping us so much. He's finding tremendous waste, fraud, and abuse. But I certainly wouldn't

want, you know, Elon has businesses in China, and he would be susceptible perhaps to that.

Meanwhile, the court battle over Trump's deportations continues to heat up. Today, the judge called

out the government for using what he called disrespectful language in their filings.

DOJ lawyers accused the judge of beating a dead horse for requesting any of this information.

Trump and his allies are now attacking all judges who do any sort of blocking of his agenda.

They are claiming that the judges are trying to usurp Trump's power

by doing what they were actually appointed to do.

The Social Security Administration's acting head

threatened to shut down the entire agency

after a judge blocked Musk's Doge team

The acting commissioner told the Washington Post the ruling could apply to all employees at the agency
