It also helps that it's a long time ago, right?

We'll be opening our Cailliers du cinema for a music class

as we find out how melodies have scored the movies in France.

And we're whipping out our philosophical scales. We'll balance the price of

everything with the value of nothing, as we ask cynicism, is it good for us? First, though,

the modernist sensibility of Le Corbusier, the design sensuality of Frank Lloyd Wright,

and the strappy shoes of Mutia Prada. That's Zaha Hadid, the superstar architect who's

based in London and in demand all around the planet. She's built landmark buildings in Baku,

Beijing, and eventually Britain. Her Cardiff Opera house design was famously given the thumbs down

by the locals in Wales, but she bounced back to build a spectacular 2012 Olympic Aquatic Centre.

But now a new Hadid building opens in the heart of London,

the Sackler wing of the Serpentine Gallery, right in the middle of Hyde Park.

The structure is pure Hadid.

Her earlier work reflected the spiky edges of Russian constructivism, but this building showcases a more sensuous, flowing style that looks distinctly surrealist.

Stylistically, it's Goodbye Malavich and Hello Dali.
