As some of you know, the 49th annual Nebula Awards were given out this past weekend in San Jose, California.

And I want to say a big congratulations to all of the nominees and the winners.

But especially to two authors who have been featured in the magazine in the past, which are

Elliot de Vodard who won for the waiting stars and for

Rachel's Rusky for if you were a dinosaur my love and again I do want to reiterate that if you are a member of any awards

committee or able to vote, please do so. Your vote does count. Vote for your favorites in the genre. So our fourth story for the month of

May is titled Night of the Couters, and is by Howard Waldrop. Now Howard is the author of The Ugly Chickens, which won both the

Nebula and the World Fantasy Awards in 1981. His work has been gathered in the collections

Going home again. And a big retrospective collection, things will never be the same selected short fiction
