Hello, a couple of days ago we recorded the Christmas special episode of

Newscast, but it feels like it was in a different era because it was before we knew all the details about the new variant

it was before lots of countries around the world said no thanks to British people going there

but they haven't banned us having fun, have they? So here it is, the virtual newscast Christmas party hosted by yours truly and Emily

You and I are back together. I can't believe it. It has been too long and it's about time we had a party.

Yes, we're going to have a virtual festive party with sound effects and guests and everything.

But what I wanted to do first Emily is get the soppy bit out of the way, which is to say it's

nice to be reunited with you because that was one of my highlights of the whole lockdown

period, because I knew you as a person but we'd never really

worked together and it was really good fun. And we talked about food and cooking and

recipes and the things that you do when you open your fridge and nothing makes sense.

Yes and do you remember Nijela taught me how to make my own homemade Nandos?

That was the moment, wasn't it? I mean here we are coming up to Christmas and thinking about turkeys but really it all started

with the homemade Nijela Nando and it's the whole thing about cooking that has

taught me now that's a signature dish in our house that's what you you cook when there's job news or there's a going away or there's like a special thing

So it's become a big occasion dish for me maybe even better than Nandos itself

Can I ask you do you get your marker pens out and have you given yourself

one of those black Nando's cards yet? That's a good idea. I've who made black card

hadn't thought about that although I'd have to give myself the rewards. Now the plan is that throughout this
