Today, we're not reviewing a console, but rather we are interviewing the historian Nicola Talis

in particular about her biography on Margaret Popefoot, who was her mother and grandmother of the first Tudor kings.

So never actually, as we shall hear, queen in her own right.

Just skip that bit. Is it too dangerous?

Okay, so we are very excited to be joined on the podcast today by the author and historian Nicola Talis.

Nicola, thanks very much for joining us.

Thank you for inviting me. It's lovely to be here with you.

So first of all, would you mind introducing yourself to the listeners in terms of who you are and what you do?

Yeah, absolutely. So I am an author and historian.

I have written three. I guess technically four books because I've got a new one coming out in the autumn.

So I'm, yeah, exciting stuff. So I write about Tudor history.

My first book was Crown of Blood, the Deadly Inheritance of Lady Jane Gray.

My second book was Elizabeth's Rival about Latee Snow, the wife of Robert Dudley.

And my third book was Unground Queen, which is a biography of Margaret Bafid.

And my soon to be fourth book is called All the Queen's Jules, 1445 to 1548 power, majesty and display.

And that is based on the research that I conducted for my doctorate, which I did at the University of Winchester.

So I finished that in the beginning of 2019 and that examines the jewelry collections of the Queens of the Wars of the Roses and the early two to Queens.
