News, Nico Harrison has been relieved of his duties as general manager of the Dallas Mavericks.

And it is, by my estimation, yours, a deserved decision by Patrick Dumont and the, the ownership of the Dallas Mavericks.

The best time to fire Nico Harrison would have been before the Luca Donchage trade.

The second best time would have been before the Luca Dantridge trade. The second best time

would have been before the Quinn Grimes dump, but better, earlier, still better than later.

And this is actually, I mean, we've talked about the Luca Dantra trade so much, and we'll

probably do a little bit here. But I want to get more into just briefly the theory of this.

And it's come up a lot, I think, about Rob Hennigan,

with the magic, a number of them, which is, once you decide your team should, like, should not be

running, like, that there's, there's a reason that they shouldn't be doing anymore. You are far

better served to do, to let them go rather than give them anymore, because, for example,

one of the major decisions that the Dallas Mavericks have to make between now and the trade deadline in February, not that they have to do it this week, is the long-term direction of the franchise, Anthony Davis's focal point in that.

And if you think that you might want to trade Anthony Davis, probably don't want the person making the decisions at the helm who

thinks he's great and who acquired him and who values him the way that Nico Harrison does.

So once you decide that that person is not the right person for the job, you have to get rid of

them immediately.

Yeah, and we've talked about this.

And thankfully, in NBA GM circles, until recently, hadn't been as much of an issue
