And if I sound a little bit giddy this morning, it's because I am, and it's because our dear friend Mark Lupo, who's not been here for a few weeks, Mark Lupo is back. Mark, are you there? Lippie Lou is here and I'm happy to be back. Hey, Rob. Happy New Year, my friend. We were both traveling. We're both all over the place for the holidays, but it's good actually. I had a lovely, lovely holiday. It was lovely us back in Britain for part of it. I was with friends here. Even a little trip, may I say, to Palm Springs. Like,

it was a very, very busy, fabulous New Year's. But I do like my life and I like my routine. And I'm sort of a little bit grateful. I'm not dissing my holiday. I had a lovely time. But I like a routine. I like my Monday to Friday. I like doing the show. I like doing my column. I like doing my substack.

I actually feel good and it's starting to feel like everything's back to normal. What do you

think? Same here. This is our sixth year together doing this, which is incredible. So, yeah,

I miss it when we started when we used to go to that studio. Yes. I went back. So on New Year's, a lot of people make resolutions, and I get it about the upcoming years. It's good. I often don't do that. I look back and think about how far have come. I really celebrate the small wins in life, because if I'm waiting to celebrate when I win a gold medal at the Olympics, I'm not going to get it. And so I celebrate the small wins every single day. And I went back and I listened to one of our first episodes, Nortez, you were so kind for sticking with us because even I can a bit, we were a bit rough. It was hard. It was rough those first few weeks for non-stee. It was a little rough, but now we're fabulous.

That just goes to show you. And it's not because we're talented, it's because we did the work. Do the work, Nortese. Okay, let's jump in to the show. At time, is it, my friends? Tea time. Big story at the top of the show. So Nick Reiner's celebrity lawyer has dropped him and a public defender has taken over.

So just yesterday, Nick Reiner, the son of the lace director, Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner,

we should always include Michelle in these stories, smirked, while his high-powered attorney,

Alan Jackson, who I've known for a while, he's a real big deal, quit the case,

leaving him with the public defender. Now, Jackson, of course, a bit of a show pony, are all those fabulous lawyers.

He did a press conference and he said he had no choice, but he still does insist that Nick is not guilty of murder.

The 32-year-old son barely spoke and agreed to a February 23rd court date.

So we're not going to hear much now until the 23rd,

but what we are going to hear a lot about is why did Alan Jackson, arguably one of the best lawyers in America?

Why did he pull out? I hit the phones. You know I have amazing sources around this story.

They said the family decided not to pay the bills. So my sources are telling me that Alan does not come cheap.

It's a million dollar legal case. He's one of the best in the world. And the family, Nick doesn't have that money. Nick didn't really have a job. He was living in his mom and dad's pool house. So he didn't have any money. So the family, the Raina family, was willing to pay. They were in discussions to pay. It's ultimately being decided now. And I get it. Even though it's their brother, it's also their mom and dad.

And they're not going to spend their mom and dad's money defending Nick here.
