Summary

Nick Kyrgios doesn't win tournaments very often, he wins them when you least expect it, but boy, when he wins them you know about it.

Catherine Whitaker (in Montreal) and David Law convened on The Tennis Podcast after a giddy couple of days in Washington in which Kyrgios won the title with the most spellbinding tennis imaginable, and plenty of drama and theatrics thrown in.

The dropshot serve, the new signature move on match point, the meltdowns are all discussed, and the pod team try to work out if something is changing, or whether this will just be a one-off.

Elsewhere, titles in San Jose, Los Cabos and Kitzbuhel are covered, and we look ahead to Montreal.

The Tennis Podcast is produced weekly throughout the year and daily at the Grand Slams.

We crowdfund the new season every December. If you like the podcast, want to help and would like a reminder when our Kickstarter goes live on December 1st, sign up here - http://po.st/SupportTheTennisPodcast
