This is Nick Estes, host of the Red Nation podcast, coming through to you today on a Friday, the end of the week.

And today I wanted to just briefly talk about a couple of things that have been on my mind, specifically this question of manifest destiny.

It's come up in the news several times recently. It's been invoked by the Trump administration

as the sort of doctrine that is guiding his domestic and possibly foreign and stellar policy

as it relates to the homeland that it calls the United States, the world that it calls its backyard, and now space.

But before I start, I wanted to just share a couple of clips from the Trump administration.

This one just came out today, yesterday, or yeah, today, August 8th.

It's a clip from Bethany Stevens, who is the NASA spokesperson.

by President Trump's vision for American space leadership.

Okay. First of all, this is a very strange video. I don't know who does the lighting at NASA, but this is like a, it was said in one of my

group chats where this was posted.

This looks like a Stanley Kubrick film.

It's very surreal.

I mean, the Trump administration has been very bizarre and it's sort of media, it's a media portrayal of itself.

I mean, the other day, like Trump was on top of the White House just inspecting things.

He recently also received a gold bar from Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple.
