We have in the house today the one and only Darryl Barron.

If you have watched the NFR or Cheyenne for any length of time,

you've seen a shoot boss with his pants shotgun and walking around, pointing saying,

you're next, and this is him.

30 years at the NFR, welcome to my good good friend Mr. Daryl Barron but real quick

before we get started I want to ask him about ask you about your uh bits and spurs you've

been making been making bits and spurs actually started making bits and spurs started making spurs

in high school as a project to have something to do.

I got interested.

And my rodeo, or excuse me, my instructor really got interested in it too.

So he helped me make all kinds of jigs and different things.

And that's how I started out.

And, of course, back in those days, mostly what I was making was bareback riding,

bull riding spurs, a few steer racing spurs.

And so when I went off to college, that's how I made all my intrafee money, was building spurs all the time.

So do you do bits at all?

I do, yeah, I started making bits about 15 years ago.

But I quit for years.

All the years I lived in Colorado and worked for Harry Vol.

I never had time, you know, to do it and work on anything really big.

But about 20 years ago, 25 years ago, I got interested again and Bill and Spurs again and got acquainted with Robert Campbell in Amarillo.

And Robert got me really interested to help me get some good equipment together.
