Summary

Today's word of the day is 'synchronized' as in NFL stars take to Twitter to call out the NFL on health protocols. Myles Garrett, JJ Watt, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Donald, Todd Gurley, Drews Brees, Richard Sherman, and numerous other NFL players all tweeted out statements at the same time. Different statements, but the same goal. Will this strategy work (0:06)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me what Toronto Blue Jays staffers need to do now that Canada will not allow MLB to take place this season. They want me to explain the details of the team looking for a new ballpark a week before the season starts (11:48). Review - Emma (30:55). One of the biggest stories in MLB this weekend concerned Yankees suspended pitcher Domingo German. He sent out a release saying he was done with baseball and leaving the game. The very next day he released another statement saying he was sorry for the confusion, but he still wants to continue playing. He was suspended for 81 games for violating MLB's domestic violence rules. What is going on here (39:05)? #waittosee --------------------------- Nominate Nothing Personal with David Samson for the People's Choice Podcast Awards: http://podcastawards.com/app/signup/   'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts.   Follow David on Twitter: @DavidPSamson  To watch David on CBS Sports HQ visit https://www.cbssports.com/live/ To hear more from the CBS Sports Podcast Network, visit https://www.cbssports.com/podcasts/ https://www.youtube.com/nothingpersonalwithdavidsamson Learn more about your ad choices. Synchronize the synchronized word of the day. It's nothing personal, but I was trying to

0:14.4

do something here that was synchronized where I'd be talking and then you'd hear another

0:18.8

voice and a voice and they'd be together at the same time. When I say synchronized, you're

0:23.7

thinking of maybe swimming, you know, when everyone's got their legs in the air at the

0:27.2

same time and there's 10 people doing the same thing or a chorus line, that great Broadway

0:33.2

show or movie with Michael Douglas, which I actually loved. Synchronize thought about

0:39.7

it all weekend as baseball is beginning games are being played between teams. All of the

0:47.4

fighting that took place between the players and the owners, it seems like years ago, doesn't

0:51.7

it? All of the back and forth over returning to play, it just, it disappears. But now we have

1:01.1

an argument to take its place. The NFL, what's next for them? Rookies are supposed to report

1:09.7

today by reporting that means they show up in their car, rolled in their window, get a

1:13.7

Q-tip, stuck up their nose, swizzle around the brain a little bit, pull it out and get

1:18.9

a result of a COVID test, which by the way could take up to 16 days. Oh no, of course it

1:26.0

won't, sorry. It takes up to 16 days if you're not a professional athlete. If you are, it

1:32.4

takes 24 hours. But there is still no agreement as to when training camp is going to start

1:39.3

in the NFL. There's no agreement as to any possible economic changes for the 2020 or

1:45.6

2021 season. There's no agreement as to how many preseason games will be played in the NFL.

1:51.8

There is no understanding whether it will be an on time 16 game season, a delayed 12 game

1:58.1

season. There is no agreement on what the health and safety protocols will be at all. And

2:06.4

right now the NFL is beginning to take on heat, never like MLB. We sit around in the commissioner's

2:12.8

office, we sit around in the front office and we would always wonder what is the good side to

2:20.6

always being in the fishbowl the way Major League Baseball is. Always the most criticized sport,
