locked on chiefs podcast. The NFL has some changes in store about how they

officiate and run a game and it's coming in 2020.

Welcome back to lockdown chiefs.

I'm Ryan from Rogue Analytics as well as

RGR football on YouTube and there's been a lot of talk of changes.

The ramping back up of the season, coaches reporting, etc.

We talked about that yesterday.

Something new came out on Wednesday and specifically about the way they're going to

officiate.

There is a temporary test going into effect

for the preseason only of what they call a booth official that is effectively the

eye in the sky, the sky judge propositions that have been floated in the past.

Those initial processes were scrapped and they rebuilt it after discussing with the officiating crews getting a lot of input

and now in the preseason they are going to check this out and maybe apply it to the 20-20 season.

That goes a long way I think in what a lot of folks have opted for have pined for really in being able to help the officiating group make the right call at the end of the day. This will rely on not only specifically set up cameras but broadcast cameras as well that are already in place and so there are some specifics about what this can do it has to be done before the play clock reaches 25 so

that they're not interrupting the normal flow of a game and I think that's going

to be important it's going to take some doing too but I think what it's going to do is give you an option to have that

referee in the sky have eyes on every time there's something important going on and they go down the list of things that this should be able to address including regular game administration down distance etc.

But specifically into the completion or incompletion or an interception of a pass,

verifying that, showing where a ball was touched,

whether it was in-bounds, out-of bounds out of bounds over an end line over a
