The NFL playoff picture through 16 weeks is still cloudy. The AFC and NFC each have some divisional winners solidified but divisions like the AFC North and NFC West could go down to the wire. The Cincinnati Bengals currently lead in the AFC North, but even the last place Cleveland Browns could surge at the right time to pick up a division crown before its all said and down. The wildcard race is still crowded with several teams that could fall backward into a playoff spot and create some havoc. In the NFC the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints are in close pursuit of the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers for the 6th and 7th seeds. Massive shake ups could still be on the one. The NFL playoffs could be decided by which teams manage COVID outbreaks best while teams currently being struck by the NFL's surge could end up with an advantage later if everyone is healthy by the time the postseason begins. Additional injuries and tough decisions can also send shockwaves through the NFL playoffs.
