And the main reason I wanted to have him on is his expert analysis that he can give us. And I want to dive into what the Patriots are trying to establish right now. You saw that second offensive play in the final preseason game against the Raiders. It was an outside zone run to the left. They ended up losing

three with Ramonday Stevenson. That play in particular, and the outside zone scheme in general,

we've all talked about it incessantly in this training camp. What are your thoughts on that play

and how it went and what it might augur?

So the Raiders had a great defense for the zone scheme.

And without getting too far down in the weeds, basically every covered offensive lineman had a tough reach.

And the uncovered offensive lineman had a hard time being able

to offer help to the covered lineman before going to the linebacker level. I think you see,

you see on that maybe Trent stays on the double team a little bit too long and the linebackers

over the top. But it's an impossible reach for Cole

if Trent doesn't give him body presence.

And it's the same thing outside for the two tight ends.
