head coaches draft. Here's the exercise. You've just been awarded an expansion team and you get your

choice of any head coach in the NFL.

We're going to go one to 32 with every NFL head coach

with my friend from NBC Sports, Pat Dardy.

It's a very fun exercise.

We agreed on some.

We disagreed a lot on some others. So let's take a break.

All right. We are back here with my friend Pat Dardy from NBC Sports.

He is the guy I go to.

When I want to talk coaching, he does an annual column ranking the NFL head coaches, starting

at one, going down the list.

I read it every single year, and I thought, you know what?

I want to do a pod on that, but I want to switch it up a little bit. And so here's the exercise, Pat. We are drafting head coaches for an expansion team. You and I, we've just been awarded expansion teams. And you know what? Roger Goodell says, you get your choice of any coach, any head coach in the NFL, who are you going to pick? And we're going to draft them. So we have our big board. Hey, here's my first choice. Here's my second choice.

So it's a little bit different than your straight ranking because this is all about projection.

You know, their resume matters, but the resume is not everything. You have to determine,

are these coaches going to be good for whatever, the next three, five, 10 years, whatever. Maybe you take age into account and say, I don't want one of these guys in their 60s. They can't be coaching my team for a long time. Give me one of the young whippersnapper. So I spent a lot of time today, Pat, going over this and rearranging my board. We'll see if I

stick to my board or if I'm just like, nope, instinct says I'm going in a different direction.
