One of President Joe Biden's first moves after being inaugurated was to inform the UN that the US will rejoin the Paris Climate Accord.

But it's not a done deal quite yet.

The F.T.'s climate reporter, Camillailla Hodson told me what the US needs to do now.

Once a country is written to the UN to formally state that it wants to join or to

rejoin, there's a 30-day waiting period before that decision becomes

effective and they're officially Paris signatories. So Camilla once the

US is formally back in the agreement it has to put forward a plan to reduce emissions right?

Yeah that's right so the US now needs to come up with a new emissions reduction
